Founder & Head Trainer
Rita Hicks is a highly experienced personal trainer, movement specialist, and studio owner with over 20 years in the fitness industry. She specializes in Functional Training, Corrective Exercise, Pain-Free Performance, Classical Pilates, and Adaptive Training, working with clients ranging from elite athletes to individuals recovering from injury or living with physical disabilities.
Rita began her career in 2004, driven by a deep passion for movement and a belief that intelligent training can restore confidence, reduce pain, and unlock long-term performance. She completed a comprehensive, long-form Classical Pilates apprenticeship through Romana’s Pilates, finishing in 2019, grounding her work in the traditional, methodical approach of Classical Pilates. Her extensive education also includes certifications through NASM, the Cooper Institute, Pain-Free Performance Specialist (PPSC), Adaptive Training Academy, Movement RX, ACE, AFAA, Balanced Body, and Pilates Unlimited.
Since 2015, Rita has volunteered with the Adaptive Training Foundation and continues to integrate adaptive training principles into her personal training practice, ensuring her work is inclusive and effective for athletes of all abilities. She is known for blending precision-based Pilates, corrective exercise, and strength training to help clients move better, train smarter, and stay resilient.
In addition to her work as a trainer, Rita is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under 5th-degree black belt Antonio Cicconi. She is an IBJJF Certified Black Belt, won Master Worlds in 2024, and teaches Jiu-Jitsu at Roger Gracie Frisco. Her background in high-level sport informs her coaching philosophy, emphasizing durability, body awareness, and performance longevity.
Rita opened her studio in 2013, where she offers personalized, affordable group and individual sessions, as well as online training and programming for clients of all abilities. At the core of her work is a simple belief: movement has the power to heal, adapt, and unlock human potential.
